Somebody must have replaced words at random with wrong synonyms or substantives with verbs e.g. "shield" with "protect", distorting the meaning and making the book nearly unintellegible. Because I am traveling a bit for the holidays, I am reading and posting a review for shorter works. When reading Rudyard Kipling, short stories are great for this purpose. This presentation has the story itself, a biography of Kipling, and 19 selected “best” Kipling quotes. It is a book that can be read from back to front, as I did, keeping the story for last. He makes you feel for poor Peachy and mourn poor Billy Fish, while shaking your head at deluded Dravot, who was superstitious enough to play on the superstitions of others without taking them seriously. I ended up getting the book from the library. Can somebody explain to me why there are typos in the ebooks? This one has the most that I ever experienced. The word choices and phrasing are really strange and it feels like it has been poorly translated into English from some other language. I don't think it is as it was originally written at all. I found another version of the book online (through Project Gutenburg) which is actually comprehensible.
